ENJOY the view a small portion of the St.
Lawrence Seaway at Brockville Ontario. By car, Brockville is 60 minutes
east of Kingston, 60 minutes west of Cornwall and 1
hour south of Ottawa and a cross the river from Morristown NY.
CAMERA: Axis M1145 in an outdoor
heated housing mounted on my roof, looking South towards the USA 2 km in the
distance. Summer is the most active time to view. During winter, you
get to see awesome images of water, ice, fog and sunrise as well as ice floes in
the spring. Mid-day in winter, the sun shines into the camera lens causing
a dark image due to the camera lowering its exposure settings.
BOATS & SHIPS of all sizes & types can be seen between April and
December. Most notably, you will see the large ships up to 740ft that travel up and
down the seaway as well as smaller vessels like tankers average 300ft, barges, tug boats,
cruise ships, recreational boats and the Coast Guard on occasion.
SEAWAY is closed from approximately December 30th to March 26th.
Check out my links on the webcam page to see the photo gallery, local weather
resourses and to access the Seaway website that shows where many of the ships are
in transit.
